| urban projects is a working community made up of architects, urban planners,
designers, art historians, economists, journalists as well as authors of
film and books. Varying emphases and experiences allow the potential of
the disciplines to expand leading to the development of other, radical departures
and approaches for the way in which one deals with the built environment.
In the fall of 2005, bb22 was invited to take part in the anniversary exhibition of the Aedes Gallery in Berlin. In the fall of 2006, we took part in 10th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice - La Biennale di Venezia and most recently our contribution in Venice will also be shown in Cologne in the KAP Forum. | news The

27. March 2007 - STADTSALON FRANKFURT The idea of the collective has long since been surpassed by extreme privacy and the individualistic cries of a society which proclaims that "I'm Okay / You're Okay". However, between both of these attempts there are -- since forever and perhaps more -- sober attempts to organize one's daily life collectively, in a frictionless and unobstructed manner. Some share a car, others an office space and still more share music through the internet. Building cooperatives are formed and supermarket cooperatives are established. Are these models for the future? Is it all a question of ideology, economic efficiency or straight forward pragmatism? 15 January 2007 - OPENING - We are happy to announce that a part of the German exhibition from the International Architecture Exhibit in Venice will be shown from 15 January – 16 March in Cologne in KAP Forum. We invite all to attend the opening at 7 pm: German Pavilion - CONVERTIBLE CITY - towards transformation and conversion in an urban environment. 28. november 2006 - STADTSALON FRANKFURT place: Frankfurter Kunstverein, Frankfurt. Begin 8 pm Germany has a female chancelor. Two women in France and the USA could potentially gain political power. Almost everywhere in the western world women are entering into previously male dominated domains. The media has mirrored this aspect of our society but also presents the extreme opposite. Gender clishees are presented along side much more "modern" images: Tough and successful women and men take care of both their children and their skin. Is there a clear division between masculine and feminine characteristics? Or, are we finding ourselves in a post modern jungle of indifferene; where everything is possible -- not only forward looking ideas, but also reactionary ones that require that women return the their true calling as described in the bible. This exploration shows how architecture and urban planning can initiate changes in the urban environment and locate differing potentials that have been and continue to be overlooked by traditional urban planning. The 15th Stadtsalon (city-salon) presents strategies and processes of urban change under the term "Change Management".* "In
the end, the entire discipline of change management exists because there
is a difference in how the affected react to change -- whether they support,
suffer under or fight against change." * more information on change management: http://home.att.net/~nickols/change.html 10. September until 19.
